How to Order At SATINGEAR  -  Finally Get The Luxe Menswear You’ve Always Craved

1. How Does This Work?

More content will follow soon. Site work is still in progress. Please have patience, join my email list and check in frequently to see what’s happening in Satin Land - it’s gonna be lots :-)

You can have the SATINGEAR.COM label put in your garment - or not. As with all other sartorial details, it’s entirely up to you.

It’s pretty simple: Tell us about the gear you desire - and we’ll make it for you.

Of course there is a bit more to it than that - but essentially that’s it. You get what you want - you only have to ask. I have made so much gear for myself over the years that I’m an expert at making satin and other fabric dreams come true. This part of the site will explain more about the practical stuff.

Remember: Anything you want can be made, so please don’t be shy - I want to listen to your ideas and create your dream gear. That’s why SATINGEAR.COM was created.

Take a look in the SATIN LOOK BOOK, too - loads of examples of gear I have made. Click on the images and videos to find out which of the pieces were made by me.

Also be sure to visit Young Jay Satin’s page - that kid knows how to wear and flash his satins. He kinda reminds me of someone I know 😅

Drop me a line anytime in an email to mail@satingear.com or let’s arrange a live chat sometime in our private Zoom room.

Now scroll down, read on and let me tell you a bit more about what I can do …

2. Designing Your Satin Gear

A SATINGEAR silk satin shirt in the making. This shirt features a graphic representation of a nuclear explosion. I’ve also used it for a bomber jacket - a bomber jacket should have a bomb on it, right? Nuclear explosions are not to be trifled with - nor is the impact of wearing this silk satin shirt to a hot night club ;-)

I design everything based on your wishes. I source or produce the best fabrics, trims, buttons, decals & lettering, embroidery, lining etc. - attention to detail is so important.

Do you have a pattern you like a lot? Or maybe a painting or photograph? I can take it and print it on any fabric you like, say, on heavy luxurious silk satin and make shirt, jacket or even trousers from it! Or let me design the pattern from scratch based on your wishes and ideas. The fabric in the photo on the left features a nuclear explosion pattern designed by me and the graphics artists at SATINGEAR and printed on silk satin. This fabric was then used for a shirt and a bomber jacket

We will be emailing and chatting back and forth until all the details about your piece of clothing are in place, then I’ll price your gear, you remit payment (as a rule, I need the full amount upfront) - and then the production of your custom made clothing begins.

I want you to have the satin, leather, PVC etc. gear you’ve always dreamed of - no compromises. Hate those ;-)

If you’ve had to settle for whatever satin gear you could find online it can be hard to grasp the concept that literally anything you want can be made. However, once you get your head around it, you’ll find designing your own fabrics and clothing highly addictive. It’ll be hard to go back to settling for whatever satin gear the internet has on offer at any given time. Most great satin outfits from the big fashion houses sell out in minutes leaving you to have to pay 2, 3 or even 4 X the original price on eBay or Vestiere. Instead, come on over to SATINGEAR and let me design your dream gear for you - and only you based on what you want.

I will be writing more about the design process soon - and I will also make a video about it, so please stay tuned for that.

3. Choosing Your Fabrics

This could be your closet if you decide to order at SATINGEAR :-)

Silk satin bomber jacket. I call this the Fun, Wisdom & Strength Jacket. Monkey for fun, Owl for wisdom and Lion for strength. This is one of my favourite silk satin designs.

Custom embroidery on a silk satin two-tone bomber jacket. At SATINGEAR.COM we offer fully customizable embroidery on your jackets, shirts, leg wear etc.

I do my work using all kinds of fabrics - it doesn’t have to be satin. I work in everything from PVC, lamé and sequins to linen to cotton (if for some odd reason you prefer that, hehe) - and the finest, thinnest Japanese leather.

Most of my gear, though, is made from satin such as silk satin, acetate satin, rayon satin or polyester satin or a combination of these.

This site is not called SATINGEAR.COM for nothing ;-)

Here is a description of some of various fabrics you can have your gear made from:

ACETATE SATIN: Very shiny, heavy, great drape, luxurious look - but naughty, porno-like, too. Many satin guys have this type of satin as their favourite.

Acetate Satin is one of most popular fabrics. Click play - and learn more about this sexy material.

A Lace Gold acetate satin bomber jacket with Special Gold acetate satin lining. Never fails to turn heads.

SILK SATIN: Silk is a natural fiber and the silk satin is luxuriously lusterous. The fabric glides over the body providing an incredible, unmistakeable feel. It has fantastic drape and looks expensive because it is expensive. Silk is anti-bacterial and lets your body breathe so it’s great for summer wearing. Silk thickness is defined by weight and most off-the-rack silk shirts you buy online are thin 12-16 momme (the silk weight unit). My custom silk shirts and jackets are typically 22 - 50 momme, so we’re talking really heavy, luxurious silk quality. The fabrics are Mulberry silks spun, weaved and printed in China. They are amazing.

Our silk satin is probably the most luxurious fabric on the planet. Learn more about silk satin in this film.

POLYESTER SATIN: Very high shine and slick. Typically the least expensive of the satins and it comes in many qualities. I use it both for shell (outside) fabric and for lining. It’s had to find a really good polyester satin - but I have several that are truly awesome. The fabric can be machine washed and tumble dried - so you can really have fun in polyester satin gear and not have to worry about ruining it.

Check out our sexy Polyester #1 satin - it’s slick, super shiny and extremely durable.

Our Polyester #2 satin comes in a great colour range and is very durable.

A polyester satin tracksuit jacket. This poly satin feels very much like acetate satin but can be machine washed and tumble dried. Really shiny, soft and sexy.

One of our proprietary designs, The Vintage Gemstone Print, used for at pyjamas shirt style dress shirt made from Mulberry silk satin.

VISCOSE SATIN: Very slick and very shiny satin often used for lining in ready-to-wear coats and suits - but I use it for shirts and shell (outer) fabric for jackets, too. Great colour range and a very luxe look.

Like all my other satins, the viscose satin come in a great colour range. You will not run out of satin colour options.

LEATHER: I make leather gear, too and have access to really great hides. My favourite is a very thin (0,35 mm) Japanese cow leather - feels and looks fantastic. I also have access to fantastic nappa leathers and suedes in many colours so you really have great choice. I almost always satin-line my leather and suede gear. Feels amazing.

Tight leather joggers made from thin, soft, shiny Japanese anilin cow hides and lined in really slick polyester satin for an amazing wearing experience. You can live in these (and I do). Combine with a black acetate satin bomber jacket or a matching leather one.

PLEATHER, POLYURETHANE & PVC: I work with great artificial leathers and shiny, soft PVC fabrics as well. Artificial leather can look extremely convincing and has an eroticism all of its own. PVC has a distinct fetish-like look that’s great when used in everyday garments like bombers, shirts or jeans - or how about a suit in shiny black PVC?

FAUX FUR: I have access to some truly great artificial fur and have made some extremely luxe looking and feeling garments for myself over the years. Wear fur in good conscience - luxuriously lined with satin, of course.

Faux chinchilla bomber jacket with viscose satin lining. Doesn’t get much flashier than this - wear a shiny silk or acetate satin shirt under for the most sexy and glam look imaginable.

OTHER FABRICS: I use many other fabrics for my gear, such as printed velvet, denim, jersey etc. Often I combine fabrics for interesting garments and looks.

PRICING

Everything I make is produced right here in Scandinavia by my expert seamstresses. I spend a lot of time designing fabrics and outfits and sourcing the often expensive materials and accessories.

This is reflected in the pricing which, depending on choice of materials (silk is, for example, more expensive than polyester) and the complexity of the garment (printed fabrics, embroidery etc.), are listed below for the most popular items:

The above will give you an idea - but please ask if the piece of clothing you’re considering is not on the list. I will then give you an approximate price so you can decide if you want to go on with process.

PAYMENT

As a rule I require the full amount upfront before I start production. At the moment I accept Paypal or bank-to-bank transfers. I offer a 5% discount if you transfer the funds via bank-to-bank.

PRODUCTION TIME

Production time is typically from 6-10 weeks. I need to spend the time to do things right - and sometimes the sourcing or production of my fabrics or special items needed for your garment take extra time. Sometimes the production pipeline is busy with other clients’ gear - I generally produce orders as I receive them. If you’re in a rush right now, my custom hi-end gear is probably not for you.

I will inform you how long the production time is when you are ready to order and keep you updated along the way. Sometimes your gear will be finished quicker than expected, sometimes it takes a bit longer. Most importantly: You will get what you ordered and your gear will be great.

Be sure to check my vlog/blog for satin news & shiny inspiration.

Mistakes do happen and errors do occur - but very rarely. I will do anything I can to make you happy if your gear does not live up to expectations - but don’t worry. It will ;-)

As a rule I don’t accept returns - however, if I’m to blame for a mistake I fix it at no extra cost along with my deepest apologies.

If you are responsible - say, if you gave me a wrong measurement and your garment doesn’t fit quite right - we work out a price and I fix it for you to the best of my ability. Fortunately this very rarely happens so please don’t worry - but it is up to you to provide the correct measurements. Never assume because you wear a sz 32 Levi’s that this is your actual waist size. It is very likely not. You need to grab a measuring tape and measure your actual waist size.

The success of a custom made garment lies in the preparation. I prepare very well, check and double-check to get all details and fit just right.

I hope you’ll feel your custom made garment is a masterpiece. Above is a bomber jacket featuring a classic masterpiece, Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa. The jacket is made by SATINGEAR from a luxuriously heavy custom printed silk satin.

All fabrics have different care needs. Did you know that you can safely wash most of your gear in the washing machine or hand wash it? Silk doesn’t need to be dry cleaned (in fact it’s better not to), nor does acetate satin. Use detergent without enzymes (silk & wool wash) - that way your gear will last much longer.

Each garment comes with care instructions so you know how to best clean and keep it pristine.

I’m always available to answer questions about how to care for your custom made gear - or what to do if something accidental happens to it.

Just click on the Contact section and let me know your questions or concerns.

We make great effort to get our custom printed fabrics perfect. The design and printing process are closely intertwined. Here a colour in a silk print is matched to a specific Pantone code.
